Zlatíčka strikes me as a psychological drama with elements of mysticism bordering on horror. I really enjoyed the book, it's readable and keeps you in suspense until the end.
I enjoyed the characters and the portrayal of the main heroine, with whom the reader experiences the nightmare of all mothers. I really like the theme of children being swapped for so-called changelings. The father deserved a slap, in several parts I was fuming at him.
The book plays with you, you can accept the version that the main heroine is only imagining it, as a product of a sick mind, but then what about those old superstitions that are passed down. Do dark forces really exist that like to take people's children away? That's up to the reader to decide how to interpret the story.

A mysterious story that I really liked a lot, but now comes the BUT - unfortunately it was unfinished, I think that if more work had been put into the story, the book could have been really top-notch.
The story of the woman to whom something happened a hundred years ago was only quickly outlined (so the reader has the option that she, as a restless spirit, wanted living children, or wanted to draw attention to herself so she could finally rest in the ground and not in a flooded village.
The unfinished story of a woman whose newborn twins someone also tried to steal years ago. Plus the storyline that this happens once every x years, when the tip of the flooded church appears.
And thirdly, who or what was that being that takes the children - a water nymph, a witch, an elf, or the murdered girl who was found in the flooded village along with her twins?

The ending also partially surprised me, why the husband behaved the way he did, but given the circumstances, one can't really be that surprised.
I can recommend the book, I really liked it a lot, but unfortunately, I have a lot of questions that will remain unanswered, which is why I can't give a higher rating, even though I would really love to give full marks.
It's a readable story that will mess with your head.
