But winter gives nothing for free… The raven and the mouse are in a similar situation. Only the squirrel seems content, because she prepared her supplies in time. But where exactly did she hide them? In the end, it turns out that when friends stick together, everything is much easier.

The illustrations are gorgeous from beginning to end. The forest is depicted with a delicate, almost magical glow. The snowy landscape, along with the milky white winter sky, looks as if it were gently shining, and the sun's rays enhance this impression even more. The entire setting is enchanting.
Since the story takes place in winter, tones of white, muted grey, and blue prevail here, while the images are brought to life by more vivid colours like the rusty squirrel and fox. They stand out beautifully against the soft background.
As for the main animal characters themselves, they are charming and their facial expressions are wonderfully captured, allowing us to follow their momentary emotions such as tension or surprise.

It tells of friendship, but at the same time reminds us how important it is to treat others with respect and to help wherever we can.
