Sophie has the perfect plan for getting a dog and helping her family. But everything turns out completely differently. Willy is the most amazing dog and his owner loves him very much. So Sophie and her little brother face a very difficult decision…
The story surprised me a lot because it dealt with quite a serious situation, which was narrated by the main character.
It shows that life is sometimes not easy and how quickly it can happen that someone loses their home.
The book tells us about a mother with two children, whose husband leaves her, and because they can't pay the rent, they are forced to start living in a car.
The mother loses her job and the already desperate situation gets worse. Food is running out, and at school both the children and teachers notice the changes.
Little Sophie comes up with the idea of stealing a dog, for which she would get a reward that would help pay for housing.
She meets the owner of the dog Willy, whom she actually steals with her brother's help and hides on an abandoned property.
The owner is devastated, suffering, and Sophie's conscience gnaws at her.

A very nice story with a happy ending and a lesson too.
The book is readable, very nicely made, and I also liked the list that the main character followed when writing her plan for how to take the dog away.
