Something is Killing the Children, Book One, 2021
Annotation:
In one sleepy little town in Wisconsin, children start disappearing and dying. Others tell terrifying stories about frightening creatures that live in the shadows. Shortly afterwards, a mysterious stranger appears who believes the children and claims that she is the only one who can see what they see. The book contains issues 1-15.
The story grabbed me from the very beginning and it was almost impossible to put down this beautifully crafted large-format comic.
The comic itself is a feast for the eyes; when I held it in my hands for the first time, I spent a long time admiring it in fascination. I know that @comicscentrum pampers its titles, but here they exceeded all expectations.
I was on edge and I was worried about the main characters. I really liked how the story gradually uncovers the whole situation and clarifies how it all is.
I won't reveal anything to you, because for me this was very original. It won't be for everyone, as already stated in the annotation, children die here on a massive scale and I understand that this won't be for everyone.
But even though blood isn't spared, I enjoyed the whole comic. It's packed with action, with no dull moments, and the pages fly by under your hands. I was on edge, a few scenes were almost uncomfortable for me, and toward the end I even shed a few tears. I'm totally thrilled, I love horror comics and this one immediately joined my favorites after I finished reading it. I'm very much looking forward to the sequel.
