I had a terrible craving to read some folk horror comic and Thistlebone completely fulfilled it for me.
Dark, captivating and almost uncomfortably immersive atmosphere… exactly how I imagine a good folk horror.

The story follows a woman who was the only one to survive a cult – and after twenty years she returns to the place where she went through hell. But something is awakening again… and the past is definitely not dead.
There's madness, folklore, mass hysteria but also trauma that never fully heals. The tension slowly builds until it literally explodes at the end, leaving you both terrified and excited for the sequel.
The comic is beautifully illustrated, with interesting mythology and characters.

I loved the artwork in this book, it really brilliantly complements the atmosphere of the story and some panels are absolutely brilliant. This book really thrilled me and I can only recommend it to all horror fans!
