I've loved Canterville since I was little, I've seen tons of film adaptations and have read it x times and I believe I'll read and watch it x more times. I first encountered it in the Czech film version and totally fell for the story.
"When a golden-haired maiden moves a sinful lip to prayer, when the withered almond tree blooms, watered by a child's tear, then the time of happy moments shall come and Canterville shall be at peace."
I'm glad the author appears in this new classics-lovers round, because I'm going to dive into more of his works🩷
Even though #klasikomilove this round with the author isn't due for a few more days, I couldn't wait, because I love Oscar's books.
