The first book by @kattocz and I must say I'm really thrilled. It was perfect.
Olda @zanicenyknihkupec already enticed me with Deadly Reef back in May and it was immediately clear to me that I would be very satisfied.
The book has a very readable, gripping plot, nice characters, narrated partly from the perspective of a boy, who is the main hero here, and partly from the perspective of a policewoman, who I found likeable.
The fact that the book is partly narrated from a child's perspective didn't bother me at all, because the character of eleven-year-old Billy himself, who is a bit of an oddball, excellently carries the entire plot of the book. You will be afraid with him, for him, and maybe at times even of him.
Right at the beginning I guessed who the villain would be, and with huge enthusiasm I can say that I was wrong, which meant a huge surprise for me, where around the middle the plot gets even more tangled, just when you're saying to yourself, hmmm sure, I know how it ends, at that moment the book laughs at you and shows you that it won't be that simple after all.
I really enjoyed it, the author can write, I hope more of his books will be released❤️
An interesting fact is that the story takes place on a fictional island that the author invented purely for this book. You'll also find a map of the island in the book.
