The 1st book in the Nina Guerrero series was great. I read it in no time. The author, who herself worked at the FBI in the past, has built a story that is gripping, fast-paced and keeps the reader on alert.
I enjoyed watching how Nina doesn't give up even though life has thrown obstacles in her way since she was little, and I wouldn't wish her childhood and adolescence on anyone.
As for the characters, whether the team colleagues, or Nina's neighbor and her ward, I found them all likeable.
The cunning killer himself, who started being nicknamed the Cipher because of his communication, plays quite a game with the investigators.
I liked that I didn't figure out at all who it could be, so the final reveal was surprising for me.
I'll dive into the next book soon, and the third installment is now a hot new release in bookstores.
