I'm glad that I managed to read Aleš Novotný's new book before the end of this year. It's the first book I've read by Aleš and I can say it definitely won't be the last.
The author writes very engagingly, I easily got drawn into the story, and although it's not a relaxing read, I enjoyed the book.
It was a powerful experience, very emotionally charged, touching.
The main character's relationships with his family members, with himself and with his surroundings, his suffering, memories, thoughts - it completely absorbed me. It's true that I would have liked to shake him many times and give him a good telling-off, but given what he's been through, his behavior isn't that surprising.
Interpersonal relationships are very well described in the book. And there were moments when tears welled up in my eyes.
The explanation of the title also pleased me, that was the proverbial cherry on top for me.
I highly recommend Šepot v bouři to all of you.
