The house hasn't experienced much love, it only remembers pain. It needs to be made to forget.
I came across Sager years ago with Final Girls, whose Czech translation didn't sit well with me, and back then I didn't get very far in the chapters, but I'll definitely give it a go in English.
However, Home Before Dark literally drilled me into the armchair, glued itself to my hands and wouldn't leave me alone. The author is brilliant at messing with your head. The scares were excellent and honestly I was really scared during some chapters. Sager writes so compellingly that I didn't want to put the book down and at the same time I didn't want it to end.
To my enormous delight, everything was explained, everything fell into place and not one of my theories was correct, so the author totally got me.
And you won't get anything about the plot out of me, you have to read it yourself but I promise you'll be just as thrilled and surprised as I was.
Now I understand why you love this author so much, Kája @penny_and_books ❤️ In 2021 you had this book as your thriller of the year and I'm not surprised.
One big recommendation❤️ and soon I'll dive into more of Sager's books.
