I really liked Planina (The Plain). I love horror and mystery stories with a nice, dense atmosphere, and this one was right up my alley.
A landscape where there isn't a soul, four friends - two couples who get stranded on a plain during their trip.
What is reality and where are the hallucinations?
A strange house, an odd old couple living there, an abandoned village, strange phenomena, and then just a brilliant whirlwind packed with mystery, an oppressive, dark, even suffocating atmosphere, the life stories of the characters, Icelandic legends, an inhospitable landscape.
The ending builds up brilliantly and I would love to see a film version.
