I'm always delighted when a new horror comes out, and I really enjoyed Pahltné. I haven't read much body horror with a dose of cosmic horror, and this was quite a ride.
I have to admit that in many scenes I felt unwell (yesss, big praise for the super gross descriptions), in some places my stomach even churned and some parts were so perfectly horrifyingly unpleasant that I got goosebumps (the bark-nature-muncher was greaaat) and yes, I mean the cute deer, which in Lukáš's rendition were no longer all that adorable.
I really liked the whole idea of what desire would possess the poor inhabitants, Luki's imagination really got me and I had an incredible time discovering what would possess each inhabitant. Well, no one was spared. As for the characters, I enjoyed Zucchini Guy and I rooted for Father Karol.
Besides Lovecraft, I also sensed Itó, which makes me very happy, because I love Itó's manga.
It was awesome and I'm already looking forward to the next book.
I'd also like to highlight the beautiful cover and illustrations by Alexandra Power Art, they're amazing and beautifully accompany the story. @alexandrapowerart
