Manor Black Volume One, 2020
I've been looking forward to this gem ever since I saw it was coming out. The first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful cover.
I'm the type who gets lured in by nicely made covers, and this one is truly flawless.
I really love a mix of horror and fantasy, so another big draw for me.
A comic with an interesting story about a family of wizards, where the eldest of the line must choose his successor from among his children, and into the mix comes a mysterious girl who tries to prevent the unleashed power from causing too much damage and evil.
As a first volume, I really enjoyed Manor Black, the introduction was captivating, I was drawn in by the characters, the setting, the family secret, once again a beautiful eerie mansion, ghosts, and the gradual buildup of tension. I also really like how magic is used here.
I can't wait to see what the next volumes will reveal.
And that ending.... I need to know what happens next, and I haven't even mentioned the absolutely amazing artwork. I can warmly recommend it ❤️
