The Embrace of the Anteater takes you to beautiful Rio. Thanks to the excellent description of the places, you can wonderfully feel the atmosphere of sunny beaches but also dark alleys and the favela, which is a paradise for criminals but not only for them, you will also find poorer inhabitants here.
I really enjoyed searching for photos of the places that were being mentioned in the book.
It's a captivating, dynamic, thrilling story, here we encounter political machinations from the highest places, high politics and diplomatic circles, full of intrigue, where you can never be sure how the other person feels about you.
Sometimes I got a little lost in the number of secondary characters that appear in the book.
But the main characters were likeable to me and I rooted for them so everything would turn out well.
The story is brilliantly crafted, something is always happening and no chapter loses its breath, on the contrary, you are constantly in suspense about what will happen next.
The debut of Czech author Martin Vitický is really well done and I can warmly recommend it to you, I believe you will like it and enjoy it just as much as I did ❤
