I bought Addie at the last Book World and I finally got to it thanks to a buddy read with @knihovnicka_ka.ves and @kudrnata__ctenarka
I really enjoyed the buddy read, thanks girls🥰
The story is slow, poetic, and the gradual pace didn't bother me, quite the opposite.
I enjoyed the main characters, somewhere I read a complaint that they don't develop, but for me it was the opposite.
There's enough space in the book and it benefits the character development.
There's a big dose of well-described feelings, and Addie bravely deals with her gift/curse.
I also enjoyed the side characters, who were nicely portrayed.
The author delivered an absolute treat with her storytelling skills, the book is a joy to read and I also tip my hat to the wonderful Czech translation.
It also often prompts us to ask lots of questions.
It was beautiful and will belong among the books I won't easily forget.
And yet, for myself I would change the ending just a tiny bit, but that's up to each reader's imagination.
I can warmly recommend it❤
