I got a craving again for Junji's horror manga and I have a few of his horror pieces stockpiled in my e-reader.
With him I know I'll be perfectly entertained and that some of his horror scenes will curl my toes again and properly turn my stomach, because he simply knows how. I have the feeling that whatever you try from him you'll be satisfied. With hindsight I have to say that even though I wasn't exactly jumping for joy over Fish back then, I actually like it too.
We have several stories here and each one is worth it.

The first story is about a group of students who are interested in the supernatural. Of course none of them have any abilities – but they're teenagers, so they like to show off and pretend they might have some powers. Everything starts changing the moment a mysterious new student joins them and strange things start happening around town.

The next story is about two sisters, a very obsessively clean mother and strange sounds from the pipes.

There's also a quite original and unconventional vampire tale here. A couple is traveling by car, an accident happens and they have to look for help. Along the way they come across a strange group of children with rather sharp teeth, who follow them for a while and eventually attack and bite them, but the pair manages to escape, they find a nearly abandoned village where they're invited in by the only resident, who seems friendly but has ulterior motives.

Then there's a real shocker here, in a kindergarten there's a very strange boy who bullies the others a lot, he's dangerous but at the same time looks terribly weird and sick, the teacher wants to help him and what she discovers about his mother and aunt defies anything you could imagine.

And well-crafted and creepy is also the last story where classmates meet after twenty years, but one of the former classmates is missing, which sparks speculation about where she might be. However, a terrifying surprise awaits the class. Sometimes people really do stay trapped in the past.
