MILOSRDNÁ VRÁNA- Margaret Owen

MILOSRDNÁ VRÁNA- Margaret Owen

I have to say I wanted to read this book right after I first saw its cover. I'm the ideal victim who gets lured in by nicely made covers practically right away.
And how was the book to read?
The beginning was tough sailing for me, until I somewhat managed to put together a certain idea of the setting, the whole world, history, divisions, etc. Some things were confusing or poorly explained for me - like the tooth magic.
I enjoyed the main characters, their dialogues, the gradual development of the main heroine, and even the romantic line, which actually didn't bother me at all.
The magic, whether of teeth or fire, fascinated me and I would have liked a deeper explanation. The same goes for the gods who were mentioned. The absence of deeper descriptions disrupted the experience for me, which I believe would have been far greater.
I enjoyed the journey, the watching of what would happen next.
The leathery monsters, the skin sorcerers, and for me absolutely top-notch the castes with bird names - I incredibly enjoyed this.

I have to say the book had a lot of great moments for me, and it's precisely because of them that I want to read the second part. Since it's a duology, I'm looking forward to it even more, because there will be a complete ending. I'm curious about what will happen next, how it will continue.
