I really enjoyed the third and final volume of the manga Puppet.
Lístek - a wooden puppet who came to life - continues trying to unravel the series of murders committed by a bloodthirsty vampire. He isn't just after the truth, but above all one thing: to clear the name of his father, Kmen Kořen. Together with his apprentice Javor, they make their way into a hidden room in the study, where a discovery awaits them that turns the whole investigation upside down. Meanwhile, Kmen Kořen plays his own game - using his living creations, he attempts to escape from prison, and he succeeds.
Nothing is what it seemed, and the truth is much darker than anyone could have imagined.
Not everyone who pretends to be a friend really is one, and someone you'd peg as the villain might not be one at all.
The ending is well done, everything is explained, and there's certainly no shortage of touching moments. I warmly recommend it.
🕯️ Did the final reveal surprise you, or did you have a hunch beforehand?
