✒️ Do you have a cat at home? Have you read any books with stories about animals?
I really love Ito, so far I've read a pretty nice pile of his horror manga and as soon as I discovered that Cat Diaries exist, it was clear to me that I needed to read them.
It's not horror manga but an absolutely wonderful peek into the author's life. The whole story revolves around Ito's two cats and the various adventures he and his wife experienced with them.
The manga is interwoven with text where we learn more interesting facts about the author.
I enjoyed it incredibly. The stories are not only amusing but also touching, and I admit, towards the end a few tears were shed.
I love animals, I myself have a bunny, dogs, and we have a tomcat named Zrzeček. I laughed at many of the situations that took place here and understood the author.
I think that for those who don't entirely enjoy horror manga but would still like to read something by the author, this will be for you. If you have a cat at home, the described situations will be all the more entertaining for you.
The double-page spread of photos of both kitties Jon and Mu brought me great joy.
