I was very curious about the Club of Cursed Princesses, and in the end I was more surprised than I expected.
It feels cute and almost fairytale-like, but beneath the pastel surface it breaks down all sorts of fairytale stereotypes, and I really enjoyed that.
Three princess sisters are waiting to meet princes, but a snag appears right away — the first two sisters are beautiful, however the third one, Gwendolyn, although her heart is in the right place, lacks the standard kind of beauty, and a whirlwind of various situations she must face begins.
The artwork is playful, cute, can make you laugh, but when more serious moments come, it draws the reader in just as much as the cheerful ones, and I have to say that at a few moments tears welled up in my eyes.
For me, it's a clever, well-crafted start to the series, and I can't wait for the sequel.
