I first gushed over this book with Olda @zanicenyknihkupec at work @kosmas.cz
The gorgeous illustrations in pastel colors completely won me over, it's so beautifully done. I enjoyed every single page. The Tukoni are so adorable and the whole story is so beautiful♥️
I've read a lot of opinions saying that the book contains very little text, yes that's true but I don't think it's a drawback.
I don't yet have a little one to whom I could read about the Tukoni, but I can imagine spinning a much longer story around it. The imagination is sparked by the full-page illustrations that tell the entire story.
The book will be great to work with, you can beautifully narrate about every animal depicted, and so you won't mind that there's little text in the book.
I definitely warmly recommend it ❤️ and I'm looking forward to the author's next books

A beautiful fairy-tale winter story about the birth of a Christmas fir tree
All trees are born in summer. Including fir trees. The Tukoň Fir Tree takes care of making sure their tiny seedlings grow well and become strong before winter. Look at how much work he has with it! He has to tie up the little trees so they don't break, protect them from bad weather and from gluttonous forest animals, and occasionally read them a fairy tale.
But one fir tree is always born in winter. However, you never know in which place in the forest it will appear. Only one Tukoň can find it — the one who dresses the animals into their white winter coats. When he transforms all the furs, spines, and last feathers white, he too dresses in white clothes and sets off into the silent, snowy forest to look for the tiny winter fir tree. Its arrival is celebrated by the whole forest. That day is a holiday of all the Tukoni.
