Original title: Between Time and Terror, 1995
Thirteen science fiction short stories where fear plays the main role.
I love horror short stories and I couldn't miss out on sci-fi horror short stories. The book immediately caught my eye at @karin.knihomolka and thank you so much for the great tip.
Usually with short stories I find that I like some more and others less, but here I'd say I was thrilled with almost every one.
For me they were totally great
Who Goes There? – the original source material for the film The Thing,
Softening – a terrifying tale where the main character lives with his daughter in a time when the world is hit by an epidemic that causes the softening of limbs
The Vaults of Yoh-Vombis – a group of archaeologists set out to the ruins of Yoh-Vombis, where an ancient civilization died out thousands of years ago for unknown reasons. But something dark lurks for them in the underground crypts... It was surprising, with a pleasantly oppressive atmosphere
Metastasis – about cancer vampires that the main character sees after an accident
Born of Man and Woman – an irradiated family copes with having a monstrous child at home
Dad, the Thing – excellent, an alien that imitates human form, wonderfully suspenseful
Orange Is for Anguish, Blue for Insanity, which closes the entire book and is phenomenal.
If you like horror short stories, you mustn't miss this book.
