Six months after high school student Aoi Mashiro moved to Kyoto, she brings the old scrolls of her late grandfather to the Kura antique shop in Kyoto's Teramachi Sanjō shopping district to find out their value. One thing led to another, and eventually she started working there part-time. Together with the shop owner's grandson, she begins to solve peculiarities concerning antiques that customers bring to them.
I've been planning to read Holmes of Kyoto for a long time and I finally read the first volume. And how did I like it? I was very pleasantly surprised not only by the great story but also by the various pieces of information, of which there are plenty. You'll learn, for example, various interesting facts, whether cultural or historical, and totally adorable gastro tips.
I'm looking forward to the next volumes.
