Duběnka is a beautiful large-format children's book with very nice illustrations.
I enjoyed following the adventures of the little tree fairy who discovers her surroundings and plays with her friends.
In spring, summer, and autumn she has lots of fun, but suddenly a change comes. The weather is changing, her friends are returning to their families and going to sleep, the reign of winter begins, everything is quiet, and even Duběnka's parents are moving from their treehouse down to the ground, where they are to wait out the winter. Only for Duběnka this is new, she doesn't understand why her friends aren't outside, why they aren't coming to play, and she definitely doesn't like any kind of moving. She loves the tree and doesn't like the idea of change.
In the end, she discovers on her own that not every change is bad, and even though it takes a bit of courage to move on, it brings new fun adventures.
I believe you will enjoy reading it just as much as I did and that Duběnka will win you over.
The colorful illustrations are a feast for the eyes, with lots of magical little details.
