DRACULOVA ŽENA

DRACULOVA ŽENA

Because I love Dracula in all possible forms, I couldn't miss this book.
It's readable, captivating, I really liked the interweaving of past and present. The story is original, I enjoyed it, only unfortunately some passages seemed unresolved to me, and that was a shame.
I grew fond of the characters, I would definitely have welcomed it if some of them had a little more space.
The book is definitely worth reading.

Annotation:

Who was the second wife of Vlad III, called Dracula, and who was he himself? What was their marriage like? Was Dracula a vampire, a tyrant, a psychopath, or a sadist? Or just a very complicated man who lived in a cruel era?
Karolína is a psychologist who goes on some interesting and unusual vacation every year with a group of her friends. But when her friend Saša comes up with the idea that they could go to Transylvania in Romania, Karolína immediately feels aversion. In the end she lets herself be persuaded, and so the whole group, armed with stakes, rosaries, and garlic, sets out to the castle of the famous Count Dracula. Everyone is having a good time, only Karolína feels a strange anxiety. And then one evening, in the forest near Poenari Castle, they come across a pack of wolves, and in panic she hides from them in an abandoned castle. Or perhaps it isn't so abandoned? With her arrival, Karolína sets in motion something that can no longer be stopped, and she comes to know the fate of the Hungarian noblewoman Ilona Szilágyi, who was married off to the cruel Wallachian ruler. Thus Karolína gets answers she didn't want to know, to questions she didn't ask.
So who was Dracula? Or perhaps still is?
