I had been looking forward to Doomboy ever since I read The Water Snake.
I love comics, even though I only got into them less than a year ago, and I thoroughly enjoy every one of them.
Sandoval has a very distinctive style. His drawings and the story speak to me, and they got under my skin already in the first comic, and now it was exactly the same.
Besides the great artwork, I also got a story that, with its depth, put me in such a pleasantly melancholic state that I was sorry it was ending.
It's exactly the kind of story that I won't easily get out of my head and that will stay before my eyes for a long time.
I took to the main character right away. The reader can almost tangibly feel his pain, longing, loneliness, and acceptance.
I can completely imagine the thunder rumbling in the distance, lightning raging across the sky, and me listening to the drawn-out sounds of a weeping guitar... beautiful.
An amazing experience that I can warmly recommend.
Annotation:
They call him D. and he's no rock god. He's just a lonely teenager with a big imagination who plays the guitar for his recently tragically deceased girlfriend.
However, his music spreads quite unexpectedly much more than he intended, and he suddenly becomes a mysterious metal legend named Doomboy!
Huge thanks for providing Doomboy go to @comicscentrum ❤❤❤
