The first book read in the new year and there is satisfaction.
I liked it, I wouldn't mind if it were a bit longer but it suited me anyway.
I enjoyed the story, I was on edge and my theory about how it would all turn out was confirmed, because the villain wasn't particularly scary to me.
The book, although it deals with the very serious topic of child abduction, was rather light and relaxing for me, a kind of one-bite read that read very well.
If I wanted to point out something, it was really rushed at times, the characters didn't have extra depth, I didn't grow fond of any of them but no one bothered me either.
If the story were more elaborate, it could have been a chilling hit. Child abductions, just thinking about it gives me shivers down my spine. The kidnapper herself was described very flatly, the reason for her actions also seemed rushed.
The book had a flawless atmosphere at times, two young women abandoned by their mother, who is who knows where with their younger sister, a cottage deep in the woods, little food and cold.
But unfortunately I can't give it the full number of stars.
