The book tells the story of six children and their experiences in the small village of Bullerby. Sisters Anna and Britta, Olle, and siblings Lisa, Bosse, and Lasse all go to school together in a distant village, play Indians together, spend Christmas together, and go skating together. They experience various adventures together, such as getting stuck in a snowstorm on the way home from school, searching for lost treasure, swimming on an island, and looking for a water sprite at the mill. They often go to visit Anna and Britta's grandfather, whom the other children also consider their own grandfather.

I can't possibly forget this book, if I had to count how many times I read it as a little girl, first with grandma, then by myself or at school.
I always loved it and I enjoyed it even now.
The whole book is actually about the wonderful carefree childhood that the main characters experience, they spend time together, have various funny incidents and adventures in a small village.
I love the illustrations by Mrs. Zmatlíková that accompany the stories.
A beautiful memory of a book that doesn't age❤️ a big recommendation from me, not only for the little ones but also for adults
