You already know that the sci-fi round in our group #klasikomilove @zanicenyknihkupec was a hit for me.
Another title I had wanted to read for a number of years was The Day of the Triffids.
This sci-fi is, one could say, mixed with almost horror-like scenes of carnivorous plants.
So my horror-loving little soul with a weakness for an oppressive atmosphere got everything and a little extra.
If someone told me the book was written by an author a year ago, I would have no trouble believing it. It is so timeless that it surprises you.
I enjoyed the author's storytelling style, I grew fond of the main character, whom I rooted for until the end.
The idea of a person losing their sight is terrifying in itself, and when carnivorous strange plants, which are more intelligent than one would think, lurk around you, the situation is quite intense.
The struggle for survival even among those who haven't lost their sight, dwindling supplies, nowhere is safe.
Wandering with the main character through this post-apocalyptic world entertained and terrified me at the same time.
I highly recommend it, a great book.
