The first volume totally got me, not only with its very nice artwork but mainly with its thrilling story.
Quite quickly a cat-and-mouse game unfolds, with Light on one side, a very intelligent student who gets his hands on the Notebook and turns into an antihero, and on the other side the mysterious L, who is on his trail.
Ryuk is great.
So for me, a great introduction and hooray for the next volumes.
It's dynamic and original, I wasn't bored for a single moment.
