I would like to end my reading year 2022 with a six-part series by John Saul, which I have loved since I was fourteen, when I bought them at Levné knihy not knowing what a treasure I was bringing home. It's been twenty-two years since I read the chronicles for the first time, and I must say that even after such a long time, the experience was amazing. I remembered very little, so it was essentially almost new reading for me. And I have one more bond with these books — once, when my dad was in the hospital, I gave them all to him to read and I liked them very much, and then we discussed them thoroughly. Dad is no longer here, but this memory will stay with me forever.
Six parts, six cursed objects, six families, one town through which evil walks. Old wrongs, terrifying memories, and above it all, looming over the town like a huge dark cloud, stands the Blackstone insane asylum.
A gothic horror full of suspense, where many times chills will run down your spine, you'll look away, and yet you can't help yourself because you want to know how it ends.
I love it and I highly, highly recommend it to everyone who likes horror, scary or mysterious stories. You can no longer find them in bookstores, only in second-hand shops, and I believe in happy hunting. You will enjoy all the parts just like me, really, I promise🥰
