ANGLICKÁ ZAHRADA

ANGLICKÁ ZAHRADA

Wow, what a ride, I still have the story in my head, I read it in one sitting, I couldn't put it down.

I haven't read many stories this sad and this one is very powerful, it really shook me and I'm pretty well-versed in horror. It was definitely thanks to the main narrator, because a child as a narrator isn't seen very often.

The behavior of the neighbors, the townspeople and those who knew very well how it all was, was terrifying.
At the beginning I still hoped that maybe it would turn out for the better and they would "just" investigate how it happened, but I was very wrong.
The despair and hopelessness of the whole situation really seeped into my veins and what's even more terrible for me is that it's inspired by a case that actually happened and has been reopened.
How people can be evil and selfish and how even good or gray characters prefer to remain silent or retract their testimonies out of fear so as not to hurt themselves and their loved ones.

I felt sorry for both parents, the daughter, but also the mother's boyfriend, poor guy, the grandmother, or the father's girlfriend. And of course both little brothers, how much they suffered.

It's not an easy read, but definitely give it a chance.

It has now been released in a new edition and turned out really well.
