An online comic I read in English that I really liked.
It's quite brutal, bloody, and some scenes sent shivers down my spine.
When I found out that my favorite director Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW, Mother's Day, Repo! The Genetic Opera) had a hand in this comic, I wanted to read it right away.
What it's about:
It's a chilling, supernatural story set in Central America in the late 1980s.
After a brutal massacre takes place in a beautiful house, real estate agent and family man Richard Ashwalt is given an impossible task – to sell this property. While Richard surveys the blood-soaked grounds, a strange old man travels to the house with sinister and terrifying intentions.
Richard will be drawn into a web of shadows, murder, and darkness.
This was a raw ride. The characters grabbed me and, as usual, I was most interested in the villain, who was sufficiently terrifying.
The intro is really psycho, a children's party full of neighbors, friends and kids, and then the birthday boy's father snaps and eliminates everyone around him, including his own family.
The villain Jebediah Crone, portrayed as a strange, terrifying old man who has a peculiar fondness for visiting places and houses where some brutal massacres, murders, and unfortunate deaths have occurred. Or rather, mainly buying up these places on a large scale, was a very interesting character for me, and I would have welcomed even more information about him.
I can't give it the full number of stars, the comic had its duller spots, but the artwork is really great, and it's true that for my stomach it was sometimes too detailed, so this is not for the faint of heart.
