1793 VLK A DRÁB

1793 VLK A DRÁB

The first part of the trilogy, the highest rated, and I have to agree (so far, that is — I'm getting ready for the next parts).
This was a rough ride.
I love historical detective stories and thrillers, so I really enjoyed this chunky book.
The central duo was incredibly entertaining, they were each different, from different social classes, and yet thanks to the case they were investigating together, they became friends.
The story is nicely layered, peeling away like individual layers of an onion. At the beginning it seemed like it would be a straightforward investigation, but not at all — I got more important characters whom fate granted no peace or comfort, and they literally went through hell. And at the end I got the answers I had been waiting for.
What surprised me a lot — twice I cried over the book, because it completely broke me down, and it also surprised me at moments when I didn't expect it.
It's really great, dark, disgusting, repulsive, at some moments I would have most liked to tear my eyes away, but the book wouldn't let me.
An outstanding piece that I probably would never have found out about, so I send a big thank you to @vnimatkrasu for introducing me to the book.

Give it a try and you won't regret it.
