He uncovers a terrifying truth: the Furnace is ruled by pure evil, and every day cruel experiments take place, in which the imprisoned boys are guinea pigs, monsters create more monsters, and the fear of death is the least of one's worriesβ¦

I read the book in one breath and it really suited me. I liked the idea, the setting, and the diverse characters β whether the young prisoners, the strange giant guards, the monsters, or the terrifying dogs and experiments.
I must say I would also like to see a film adaptation.
Given that this is the first part, many things were not explained, so I believe we will learn more in the following parts.
The Furnace is definitely an interesting, terrifying place where you certainly wouldn't want to end up. It's hard to say how long a person could survive there.
The plot of the book was quite rushed in some parts, and the author let us only take a peek behind the curtain in some sections.
It often happened to me that I completely forgot that the main characters are actually children β the plot is quite rough.
The book is readable, has a fast pace, and I'm happy to recommend it.
I can't wait for the sequel.
